STAT INFORMATION
STROKES-GAINED STATS
We calculate our own version of strokes-gained using the shot-level data. While we try to follow the PGA TOUR's method as closely as possible, there will inevitably be discrepancies between our numbers and the official PGA TOUR figures. You can read more about our method for calculating strokes-gained in the FAQs.
FAIRWAY PROXIMITY
Proximity to the pin of all shots hit from the fairway (par 3s tee shots included) or intermediate rough from a distance greater than 50 yards and less than 250 yards. Shots deemed to be layups or punch outs are excluded. Hover over cells to view the number of shots hit and the average yardage to pin.
ROUGH PROXIMITY
Proximity to the pin of all shots hit from locations other than fairway or intermediate rough from a distance greater than 50 yards and less than 225 yards. Shots deemed to be layups or punch outs are excluded. Hover over cells to view the number of shots hit and the average yardage to pin.
DRIVING DISTANCE
Average distance of all drives on Par 4s and 5s. Reloads are included. Hover over cells to view the number of drives hit.
DRIVING ACCURACY
Percentage of fairways (fringe, and greens also count as fairway) hit on Par 4s and 5s. Reloads not included. Intermediate rough no longer counted (we used to count them).
GIR
Percentage of greens hit in regulation. Fringes are no longer counted (we used to count them).
SCRAMBLING
Percentage of around-the-green shots from 50 yards and in that were holed out in 2 strokes or less. Shots deemed to be chip outs are excluded. Hover over cells to view the number of attempts (more than 1 attempt per hole is possible).
GREAT SHOTS
Number of "great" shots in the round, where a great shot is defined as the top 5% of strokes-gained values in each category. The strokes-gained cutoffs by category are OTT: 0.3, APP: 0.55, ARG: 0.55, PUTT: 0.65. SG values are adjusted at the hole-level. Hover over cells to view the category breakdown of great shots.
POOR SHOTS
Number of "bad" shots in the round, where a bad shot is defined as the bottom 5% of strokes-gained values in each category. The strokes-gained cutoffs by category are OTT: -0.4, APP: -0.5, ARG: -0.6, PUTT: -0.5. SG values are adjusted at the hole-level. Hover over cells to view the category breakdown of poor shots.
